I would've liked this beer more had it not blown up when I opened the can. Or had it not taken ten minutes to pour. But this is still a good one: perfectly smooth and creamy with some tootsie roll character, cut off at the end with some burnt coffee ground bitter. Very easy to drink, and it smells like a sophisticated chocolate milkshake.

From the growler, it pours dark brown with a small head, quickly dissipating into a ring with a bit on top of the liquid. Malt, coffee and chocolate in the nose... Roasted malts in the mouth. A faint bit of char in the aftertaste. Enjoyable!

On tap in Atlanta.
Pours dark brown and looks black and opaque in the glass.
Rich malty flavor with some complexity and a load of chocolate.
Excellent balance with minimal burnt or char notes yet loads of dark roasted grains. Good cold but improved with warming. Excellent bitter see balance.

A: Very deep, dark brown with a garnet and ruby hue to it. Fluffy, light brown head that hangs around nicely. Lacing is moderate.
S: I'm getting a smokey and oaky character, balanced by a nice toffee sweetness. Dark caramel, brown bread, and coffee are lingering in the back. Maybe a slight dark fruit note there, specifically dates.
T: I definitely get more coffee in the taste, and that same oaky character as well. It's slightly smokey, sweet dark bread, caramel, toffee, and hints of that date character from the nose. There is a lingering earthy bitterness on the finish.
M: This is definitely medium body, maybe pushing medium full. Moderate carbonation, and np hint of alcohol warmth. It goes down smooth, but lingers just a bit too long.
O: This beer is one of the more solid options that Eventide has offered, I would drink another pint of this for sure. Rich, dark, sweet, and a lingering earthy quality.
