Pours a cloudy amber color in the glass. Not such a tall foam but lots of bubbles in the Duvel tulip. Quite sprightly in the mouth. Aromatic with the German esters that give it more of a Hefeweizen flavor.
This is an interesting version of the Witbier style, or "Americanized" as the brewer calls it. They use the traditional orange and coriander flavorings, but the spice is not too strong. It's richly flavored and seems to take to the bigger alcohol content just fine. A hint of apricot. More sweet than many Wits, but again the higher ABV makes it quite palatable.
Bought the 32 oz growler at the brewery restaurant in Temecula. A real deal at $2 for the glassware and $5 for the fill-- the price of a pint.
