Clear amberish orange color with plenty of foam in the St. Bernardus globe. Luscious sweetness with a tart edge. Aromas of orange and-- could it be-- loquats? Butterscotch flavor as the liquid luxury oozes down the throat. Kumquat preserves and a shot of clear rum. Hot as the morning sun, warm peaches and pine needles in the nose.
Amazing hop flavors with just enough bitterness to remind you this isn't a new malt liqueur. This is one of the better big beers I've had this year, a worthy match for my current champ, the triple IPA Power Plant from El Segundo. Plus the price of eight bucks is more palatable than the many wax-dipped wonders. From the 22 oz bottle purchased from Barons Market in San Diego.
