Very dark brown, opaque like a stout, and topped with a very dark beige foam in the Crooked Line tulip. Quite sudsy and lush in the mouth. Just slightly sweet and there is an interesting sharp tang that may be from bugs in the barrel. The Bourbon aroma is emerges as it warms and there is a boozy sort of aftertaste.
The brewer says this is also made with coffee, and it tastes suspiciously like there's vanilla involved as well. There's a scratchy yesterdays java taste. It also tastes like orange peel and I think of chocolate covered raisins. Quite interesting dark brew that's not like the usual flavored stouts. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Barons Market.
