Continuing the tasting tour at Brazos Valley with a refreshing pilsner.

Pours clear and clean. Light aroma with some grassy notes and a mild bitterness on the finish. Easy drinker.

Bready taste with lemon accent. Well balanced and a solid Pilsner.

A: Pours a clear pale yellow color. A one finger white head forms, and recedes quickly. Light lace is left behind.
S: Cereal grains and bread. A touch of grassy hops. Not much else, but above average.
T: Follows the nose, with that cereal grain flavor. Kind of a sour corn thing going on as well. With some nondescript sweetness. Light, but noticeable grassy hops helps out.
M/O: A light to medium body. Good carbonation, which is crisp. Not hard to drink at all. An easy drinker that you don't have to think to much about.

I don't have a lot so say about this one. Just kind of inoffensively there. Not that that is bad, just rather blah. There is a fine line between a subtle, less is more kind of Pilsner, and one that is just blah. Which probably has a lot to do with individuals personal taste than anything. Anyway, for me, this was on the blaher side, rather than the less is more side. As with all reviews, thats just me.

The hops aren't Noble, it's definitely an American expression, but it's good. It has that yeasty pretzel thing going on, and it's good, but you also find lemon grass and citrus notes that are good in the beer, but american in expression.

Canned 6/5/25. Drank 8/28/25

Nose is grassy/lemony hops with some malt backbone
Taste is lemony grassy hops bready malt.

Not terrible, but not one of the better Pilsners I’ve had.

Looks right, taste is all wrong for a Pilsner, especially one that A BVB sales rep called a true German pils (German malt, German hops, German yeast)
It had little to no hop character all around and was dominated by overpowering malty bread tastes in the front, body, and finish. I gave it a 6 pack try because the little testing glasses aren’t enough. One of the poorer quality craft pilsners I’ve ever had. A Budweiser would certainly be more refreshing than drinking this bread.

Thanks to Premo88 for the chance to try another Brazos Valley beer!

Pours a slightly cloudy dark straw color with a quick to flee finger of white foam.

Nice bready aroma with a hint of sourdough to it. Hints of spice and lemon add a nice touch to the more grassy hop notes that dominate

Med. strength taste that is the aroma faithfully portrayed. Less sourdough and more spice at the end of the sip produce a simple and tasty beer.

Thick bodied for style, not as refreshing as it ought to be, highly viscous, low carb., with a finish that leaves a lasting lemon resiny thing going on that distracts from the beer's other, better features.

Not the worst pilsner I have tried but the resiny build in the finish makes this otherwise decent beer into a Not Recommended.

Appearance: Bit of a chill haze in my yellow gold glass. Solid slightly rocky white head waits patiently for me and leaves spots of sudsy lacing.

Aroma: Tonic water, peppery hops, slightly sulfur yeast note seems legit.

Taste: Corn, lemon pith, light grain, and a classic "beer" pils profile. Bitter slowly wins a pretty balanced taste.

Mouthfeel: Prickly carbonation, medium light body, sudsy texture, clean finish.

Overall: Hard to love a Pils, good ones are kind of invisible easy drinking beers. This one has a lot of that, a few interesting points but not enough to intrigue. A good first taste of the brewery, if they can do this well, they should be able to wow me with a style I actually like.

12 oz. can poured into mug

L: misty yellow, over an inch-tall head of white foam that sticks a little, keeps a full skin and thick collar of offwhite foam; about 60% clear; no major lacing; clears up some over time but only to about 80% clarity (SRM 4.0 printed on can)

S: peach, cherry, corn; no hop aroma at first but as it warms it has a grassy note, like cilantro; the sweetness begins taking on a creamed corn aroma; the hop aroma continues to grow into green onion

T: much drier and hoppier than the aroma though still full of bread-malt sweetness; peach, pear on the finish; hops offer a little bitterness and have a green grassy flavor, again cilantro and also a bit of lemon or lime peel, but they play only a supporting role to the more dominant malt notes

F: medium-lightweight, lots of carbonation for a good pilsener crispness

O: solid all around with a lean more toward the bread-malt sweetness of the style; it's good enough that I'll revisit it
