Had it on tap at the brewery. Very dark brown color with great head and lacing. Pleasant smell and taste of a Mounds bar. Very forward coconut smell and flavor. Silky feel. A nice variation on this brewery’s Imperial Stout.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a deep black color with a one finger head of tan colored foam. The head fades rather fast leaving just a trace of bubbly lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is rather strong of a cocoa and chocolate smell mixed with lots of aromas of coconut and vanilla. Along with these smells comes some nice notes of caramel and a little bit of a molasses smell. Overall an inviting sweet and roasty smell.
Taste – The taste begins with a rather roasty malt flavor with a whole lot of chocolate and caramel. There is also a big presence of molasses and vanilla right from the start with a light coconut flavor following shortly behind. While the coconut is light upfront, it grows more intense as the taste moves forward. At the same time some of the caramel lessens in intensity all while the roasted malt flavor grows richer and darker. Other flavors of a light char taste and a bit of toast also join the taste. By the end the coconut gets rather big and mixes with some light boozy tastes as well as the sweet, coco, and roast to leave one with a very pleasant and robust flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is rather thick and chewy with a carbonation level that is rather low. For the mix of dark and roasty, chocolate, and coconut tastes the feel is fantastic and makes this one a delicious slow sipper.
Overall – A nice big and roasty stout with tons of flavor. Bravos Valley really does a nice job with their imperials. Delicious!!
