Aging beer takes time, patience, and a whole lot of love, We aged our tres leches stout, Big Spoon, in Breckenrige rye whiskey casks for 13 months. The result is a delicate, sweet, rich, and vibrant stout with vanilla, chocolate, and cask accents. It’s more than a Big Spoon, it’s a Lovin' Spoonful.

Poured from draft into a snifter. Dark brown color with nice beige head and good lacing. Chocolate and maple syrup smell and taste. Some coffee and dark berry flavors. The feel is not too heavy. The flavor of vanilla cake comes out as it warms. A very nice, comforting stout.

Pour is black with a thin light cinnamon head that fades quickly.
Nose is a huge wave of bourbon, oak, dark chocolate.
Taste follows. Upfront a huge wave of soft bourbon, oak, chocolate, finishes with a wonderful marshamallow, vanilla / brownie character. I know there's no peanut butter, but the finish produces an interesting and very pleasant peanut / peanut butter flavor.
Initial impression is that the mouthfeel is a bit thin. Keeping in mind, though, that this is a BA 'american stout' rather than any type of 'imperial' causes you to recalibrate your assessment. good, medium low carbonation. a big creamy. with a wonderful lingering hint of bourbon followed by an inviting chocolate, vanilla, marshmallow that invites another sip.
Excellent beer
