Just visited this place for the first time. Maybe the weirdest brewery I've ever been to. The atmosphere is pretty great. One of the best setups I've ever seen. A spacious tasting room, great outdoor patio area, ping pong table, good music, relaxed atmosphere, pretty much everything you could want in that respect. That said, I'll probably never come back. The beer was absolutely atrocious. A friend and I went through the majority of the beers they had on tap and nearly everything was "rough" to "borderline undrinkable." Old Crow is the second worst IPA I've ever tasted and the Ol' Grandaddies wasn't far behind. Behind those, the Snowblind Wit was really bad, the Dubbel and Biere de Garde had zero Dubbel or Biere de Garde characteristics, and the mead...don't do the mead. That said, not everything was bad. Two styles I normally don't go bonkers over, Amber and Brown, were pretty well done and they had a coffee porter that had one of the better aromas I've found in a coffee porter. I had heard good things about this place coming in, the atmosphere was great and the servers were very good, but I just can't justify going back to a brewery with beer this bad, especially with all of the other good options nearby.

Really enjoyed this place. Met some great people. Vibe was lively. The food tent was delicious. The decor was cool. The service was great too. Can see why it was so busy.

Nice new brewery in Vista. Small, unassuming location. When you walk up, you think it's going to be very small, but it's actually quite large. Plenty of places to sit with a large outside area. We all agreed, it would be a great brewery tour stop on a warm day.

The service was great. Quick and easy. Great iPad-based payment system. Very modern.

Overall, it's a very cool place to hang out. But the beer is what's important..

One word comes to mind when I think about the beer. Forced. It just seems like they are trying too hard to make a beer that has the characteristics that "beer people" are interested in. For example, I tried 5 beers tonight, and I would say that 3 of them all tasted incredibly artificial. The IPA has a suspiciously strong piney nose, as if some sort of artificial ingredient was used to enhance the aroma. The flavor simply did not hold up. It had the potential to be great, but the artificial aroma really turned me off. The same goes for the Honey Badger Braggot and the Wet Willy Vanilly.

Aside from the Sundown Stout, which wasn't bad, I did not experience a lot of aromas or flavors that I would consider "natural" to the brewing process or coerced by a quality brewer. While this place is new, it seems like they really need to find their niche and concentrate on perfecting a specific style. They appear to be spread too thin and are focusing more on variety and not quality.

I did see a few bourbon barrels, so I can only hope they have that stout hanging out in there for awhile, allowing those barrels to impart their magical goodness. It's a great place, definitely worth visiting, but the beers are average at best.

Edit: Someone obviously went in and rated all of their beers a 5.. Pretty lame.
