This was one of a bunch of beers that I picked up last year the Total Wine in California. Had a few brews from these guys in the line share at Other Half, but this was the first that I bought and reviewed on here and yes, it was exciting to finally have one of these!
No surprise that this poured like grapefruit as it was dark, not bubbly, and topped off with a thin head. Almost looked like juice as there wasn't much of any carbonation to be seen and ditto for the lacing, as there was hardly any of that left behind once I took a few sips. No doubt that this was fully of dank and tangy citrus with some deep forest and turbid hops beneath that. The taste followed suit with some pine, resin, and earthiness on the palate as this felt like a left coast beer without the oily resin or Cascade that I've come to expect from more popular examples of the style.
The booze was hardly here as this felt more like an American Pale Ale, as there wasn't much of any puckering or burn in the aftertaste. Logically canned on 4/19 of last year, this held up well as it had me wishing I picked up one or two more offerings from these guys. Loved the label, even though this was quite grapefruit-forward and almost one-dimensional...

A lot grapefruit. Pours a hazy cream orange with a foamy head that dissipates fairly rapidly to a thin cap with ample lacing. Heavy grapefruit on the nose and taste. Well bodied. Very nice.

There's just a bucket of grapefruit in this. Tastes like the fruit addition is heavy - dominant flavor but nice, and not overly bitter. I'd drink a fair bit of this

Whoa, we have ourselves a winner here. Hella blast of grapefruit in your mouth like Gloria Graham juicing it for Bogey back in the day. Smooth, beautiful mouthfeel...

Overall, this is an intense grapefruit IPA, and delicious accordingly. It's opaque orange color even fits the bill. Tons of grapefruit on the nose, even more sweet fruit on the tongue with a nice piney bitterness to finish, all packed up in this refreshing and easy to drink beer. Cheers!
