This Earth Day may be our last! The Invader makes contact in Hostile Intent, a Tart Wheat Ale featuring intergalactic starfruit and beams of bright kiwi!
Kettle-soured for a sinister acidity, this otherworldly combination of our classic Berliner Weisse style and tart seasonal fruit makes for a scene-stealing explosion of flavor. This beer was brewed in imaginative collaboration with Keymaster Games and will be the first of several Campy Creatures brought to life in themed can releases!

Pulpy and opaque light orange brew - looks like fruit juice. Nice sized head, but retention is relatively poor.
Remarkably tart and juicy aroma, with just a slight sweetness to go with it. Kiwi and starfruit? Sure, but it's hard to pick them apart separately from the overall sour citrus-like notes. Unlike wild ales brewed with fruit, the added juice here has a distinct fruity sweetness underlying the tartness.
Flavor follows suit: from the get-go, it's immediately juicy, fruity, and tart. Flavors vary in waves, but the acidic tartness remains throughout, like fruity sour candy. Pineapple and mango up front, followed quickly by a neutral sourness with some residual sweetness, and followed by kiwi and orange. Starfruit really takes over on the finish, imparting a unique flavor that sets this brew apart.
Puckering and sour, but not vinegar level. Smooth and easy drinkability. Somewhere in between a sipping sour and a gulping radler.

A: Bright star fruit, almost strawberry-like with a light kiwi aroma, followed by a moderate lacto sourness.
A: Pale straw almost off-white color, super hazy almost opaque with a thin white head that quickly forms a ring around the glass.
T: Lots of starfruit, almost strawberry-like with light kiwi flavors, followed by light breadiness, and clean moderate lacto sourness through the finish.
M: Light bodied with moderate carbonation.
O: Delicious; looks off-putting and initially confused the beer with a hazy IPA based on appearance. However, very easy to drink with fragrant bright fruit aromas and flavors with a clean, zippy lacto sourness.

Can with no date poured into a snifter! Looks like a NE style ipa, murky yeloow with a white head that fades! No lacing when consumed. Smells kind of off for me but there is some funk and tropical fruit notes popping through! The taste is nice and fruity with a tad of barnyard funk in it. I do get some artificial flavoring taste, but it could be my palate. The feel is light and juicy. Overall not bad but there are definitely better sours out there. Cheers.

- Drank from 16oz. can (poured 2oz. into glass to see appearance). Don't know canning date but pretty sure this is first can run. Enjoyed on 2-May-17.
I get some nice strawberry milk (the Nestle kind) in the first 2-3 seconds of drinking this, followed by a rush of nice tartness. Wheaty in the finish. Nicely done.
