Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a thin brown head that dissipates to rapidly disappearing patches with minuscule lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, chocolate and mint. Flavor is dark toasted malt, milk and dark chocolate, lactose and peppermint. Lingering chocolate mint finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A rich, chocolatey dessert stout that is reminiscent of mint wafers. The mint is handled deftly, and although a clear note, does not dominate, largely because the stout base is so robust. Great chocolate notes with a touch of lactose to push it into the expected pastry (well, cookie) territory. I always have trepidation with a mint stout, because it is such a powerful flavor, but most breweries seem to handle it well. Bottle Logic did; this is a very nice, full bodied dessert stout. The lack of a head, despite fine carbonation in the mouth feel is a mystery.

Poured from fridge temp. Pours motor oil black with a good amount of brown head. Nose is mint, brown sugar, baker's chocolate, vanilla, cherries, and some burnt wood. Taste is freaking amazing. The first thing to note is the huge creamy mouthfeel - beyond good. The taste is full of mind, charred wood, molasses, vanilla, lactose, and lots of fresh dark fruit - cherries, blackberries, figs. There is a spicy note coming through - maybe cinnamon or nutmeg. There is an ever-so-minor bitterness on the back end - I attribute that to the dark chocolate. Overall a great stout.
