Had on tap at BL tap room. Big imperial mocha stout with Mostra coffee. Dark brown /black pour with tan head /residual halo. Nose is present but mostly coffee. Pleasant. Taste is mocha, coffee, dark malts, uncertain hops. A bit coincidental not melded together. Some chocolate but more coffee forward. A little bitter at back of swallow. Feel is a bit light for the abv. And slightly spritzy. Tends to distract from the flavors. Pretty good but not up to other BL stouts I’ve tried.

Let’s just call it like it is: this is a weak version of Founders Breakfast Stout. (And we are talking about Bottle Logic here - the King Kongs of the Stout game.) Now, don’t get Raul wrong, it’s not terrible. And I may be a lil over dramatic here. But when I order from the best of the best, consarnit, I want the best of the best. And right here is a microwaved burrito from Chipotle heated up at 2 am.
