Look: It pours clear and copper with a tannish head. Head retention is very good.
Smell: It has aromas of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and coffee. It is slightly more spicy that sweet.
Taste: The flavors are quite sweet with cinnamon, nutmeg, and coffee. There is a touch of apple and vanilla in the background. There are hints of caramel well into the background.
Feel: It has a full body and finishes sweet.
Overall, a like the flavors, but I would have like to have a little more of the barleywine elements shine through.

I can't say I taste anything barleywine-y, the spices really dominate. I'm liking the cinnamon at least. There is enough sweetness to keep nutmeg and clove in check for the most part. The coffee is faint at the end and there is too much lingering ginger. Not bad, just not for me.

For the 2021 version: Sweet caramel malty, hint of coffee, and prominent pumpkin pie nutmeg/clove spicy nose on this one! I mean...the pumpkin pie aromatics are pretty close to taking a whiff of one on Thanksgiving. The taste, however, follows somewhat with a very sweet, pumpkin pie spice with coffee, and caramel/toffee malty finish...coffee shows up a little bit more as it warms. Also, a coffee bitterness starts to linger a bit too much on the backend. The aromatics>taste IMO by a long shot. This is drinkable, but I am glad that I only got one can to try.

Poured from fridge temp. Pours a nice dark brown - almost black. Good amount of tan head. Nose is PUMPKIN! Nutmeg, chocolate, cinnamon, and fudge. Maybe a touch of toffee. The taste is...interesting. Lots of Christmas spice and pumpkin. This one doesn't have a bunch going on. I'm honestly not getting much of an English barleywine taste to this. Toffee and some raisins. A bit of plum, and notes of rum. Interesting for sure. Mouthfeel is fairly thin, but I'd go with medium-bodied.
