Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Banana Bread Stout collaboration with Tripping Animals Brewing • 14% ABV • We treated this bourbon barrel-aged stout with a blend of cacao nibs, wild thai bananas, and vanilla chai to develop the rich, soul-warming flavors of banana bread -- and it hits on every level. Flavors of banana, clove, cinnamon, chocolate, and oak completely envelope the palate; the 14% ABV warms and lingers in the chest. Mildly sweet with a lightly tannic tea-toned bitterness. You'll find this #StasisProject most flavorful once it's had an opportunity to climb closer to ambient temperature!

8 ball black with a short tan head that slowly settles to a dense quarter pipe around the ridge.
Yowza, that vanilla chai really pounds the palate right away with heavily spicy characteristics of cinnamon and clove. It immediately pulls it away from any banana bread associations and more towards the Temeculan/Biggleswade swamp of Munster. There are only faint qualities of chocolate, prickly whiskey and banana.
The medium body has a tingly carbonation that comes to a warmingly semi-dry to dry finish.

If I run into a banana stout then I have 98% chance of bringing it home. Bottle Logic went the roas less traveled by adding a chai profile. Those spices sing through and it is not just cinnamon; cardamom pops as well. The banana is a subtle support that I wish was turned up just a tad more. A trailblazing combo that i havent seen.

Pitch black pour with a light brown cap. Smell is potent: banana, chai, clove, cinnamon, and chocolate chips with mild bourbon. Taste is much spicier with overpowering chai, clove and cinnamon to a lesser degree, the bourbon and banana interplay gets run over. Feel is thick, heavily spiced and warm, chewy but not well balanced. I guess if you really love spicy chai this one is for you

Sweet chocolate malty, clove and all-spice, hint of vanilla-banana, and hint of bourbon barrel nose on this one! Taste follows with a hint of all-spice banana bread, some chocolate roastiness, and hint of heat finish. I was hoping that the banana notes would come out as it warmed, but it seems that the chocolate roasty bitterness interfered with appreciating that. This is pretty good, but I was hoping for more vanilla and banana notes.
