T-Minus Midnight is a mission-critical imperial stout collaboration between Bottle Logic and WeldWerks which was aged for a full year in Heaven Hill bourbon barrels, then finished with coconut, Filipino cacao nibs and Tahitian vanilla beans.
This powerhouse launch vehicle is fueled by oaky bourbon warmth, carrying a layered payload of rich, roasty chocolate from the cacao nibs, silky coconut for body and balance and Tahitian vanilla to ensure a smooth ascent into decadent darkness.

Pours pure black and settles a light swallowing black in the glass with a sudsy mocha colored head that is eager to leave so you can enjoy the beer.
The nose leans heavily on the cacao nibs and the Tahitian vanilla beans, but there’s also some coconut as well as a nice bit of oak and booze from the barrel. Wow.
The cacao nibs and vanilla are also forward on the taste and quite delicious, but it’s the balance of the coconut and oak and the warming boozy note from the barrel that really elevates this beer.
The mouthfeel is rich and creamy, perfect for this exceptionally well executed world class BA imperial stout. There’s a reason Barrel Logic is so highly regarded, and this beer is yet another example of their prowess.

Thick and sweet. Big bold and boozy, it’s just what I expect from these guys. It’s a stout that’s big on sweet assertive adjuncts running around a hulking barrel presence. A bit of a syrupy feel, mildly oily. I love the Logic when they are on, and this one is on.

OK, Bottle Logic. 8/29 is the scorecard to date, that is, excellent vs. below excellent. That ain’t good enough for $28 or so a pint. Another 500ML bottle in hand.
Hard black. Minimal active yeast life. The nose reeks of coconut meat.
T-Minus Midnight plows familiar soil. There’s the adjuncts: plenty of coconut borne up on a smooth wave of cake -batter-infused-alcohol. Barrels roll in (sorry) providing a backup punch to the ABV along with a sharp, biting sling of cocoa. Barely any detectable vanilla. Waist-thick. A smaller serving would have been appropriate.
Another expensive, good-not-great beer from BL.

Pitch matte black pour, brown cap. Smell is led by the coconut and vanilla with chocolate and bourbon behind. Taste led by coconut, then the second tier is vanilla, marshmallow, chocolate, malt, then the third tier is the barrel. Want more warmth in the feel, but as is it is a good dessert stout with adjuncts starring in a thick and heavy batter.
