This was Gonzo’s Kalamazoo Beer Week special release.
Not sure what to make of the jokey name. The “melons” in the title come from a hop variety which does in fact smell like melons.
This pours a light golden color.
I get a honeydew note from the aroma. It’s light and subdued. The melon hop profile doesn’t come across as prominently when I sip it, although it has a surprisingly pronounced bitter flavor and finish. Perhaps it would be better for an IPA than a blonde ale.
