16 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 5/2/2016. Pours lightly hazy deep reddish copper color with a 1-2 finger dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas big caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, light roast, citrus peel, herbal, grass, light pepper/pine, and toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and light-moderate citrus/earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, light roast, citrus peel, herbal, grass, light pepper/pine, and toasted earthiness. Light herbal/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, citrus peel, herbal, grass, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light-moderate citrus/earthy hops flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, and slightly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is a great red ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light-moderate citrus/earthy hops flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. Very rich and complex on malt flavors for the ABV; with balancing hop character. A very enjoyable offering.

This beer really exceed my expectations. In all honesty I only bought it because it's brewed in Kalamazoo which is my hometown. So when I saw it on the shelf this far away from home I bought it just because. Anyways this beer is good. It's got a bit of a cinnamon and Carmel taste, a bit of hoppy-ness, and great overall flavor. It's dark and has a decent head!

From my notes.
This pours an amber-caramel color. There’s a light aroma with some caramel notes. Very one-dimensional.
The flavor is malty-sweet, with a rounded caramel character. Could use some roast or hop presence to give it more definition. Otherwise nothing stands out on this beer. True to style?
