This pours an amber-caramel in color. I was expecting something hoppy from the get-go; instead I had to work for it. There’s not a discernible hop aroma. I found some earthy notes as it warmed. The flavor has an earthy bitterness with a drying hop that gives off hints of orange peel and pine. Drying, malty, and perhaps more “continental” than it meant to be.
