Nice smooth barleywine, just enough of a bite to let you know to watch out. Clear light amber, aroma of malt first, hint of hops. Taste brings hops up front, some wood, earth. Enjoyable!

This was enjoyed from a mini-growler. Pours a clear amber with a short-lived white head ... very little lacing.
Nose shows a pretty straight up no nonsense American Barleywine... Plenty of hoppiness that makes me think of lemon and maybe a little tropical fruitiness that blooms with residual maltiness.
Pretty big bitterness... and I like it that way. Pithy citrus hop flavor, pale maltiness carries the bitterness and hop flavors nicely... no caramel, just nice pale malts... with warmth a bit of EtOH creeps up too much for my liking, but it is certainly acceptable.
Body is medium, but still seems a little thin/slippery IMO.
I have had quite a few of Edge's brews so far and this has been my favorite hands down.
