On tap at the brewery.
A: Mostly clear amber with an off-white head that sticks around.
S: Caramel malt and underlying pungent hoppiness...citrus pith as well. Semi-balanced with a sticky, resiny undertone.
T: Follows the nose, nice malt bill pushes the caramel and grain/breadyness to the forefront and follows with pithy hops and grapefruit.
MF: Malty body carries some heft, alcohol is invisible, mouthfeel fits the style well.
O: Nicely done - hops and malt sweetness balance each other out. Pretty great example of an imperial amber, well done.

On tap at Albertsons. So far, so good, hitting all the right notes for an Imperial red. Pleasant aroma of equal parts malt and hops. Dark amber pour with creamy beige head. Taste favors the malt, but it is balanced by the hops for a relatively smooth brew.

22 picked up tonight at the COOP for about $5.. But I think it will ultimately be more expensive at the other bottle shops.. Pours clear deep amber with a lingering off-white head.. Deep complex caramel and dark toast with balanced pithy citrus hoppiness.. Bigger caramel maltiness works well with piney hops.. grapefruit zest.. Pretty proper big Amber Ale.. good bitter backbone. Very drinkable. Well done.
