Grunt fill from Albertsons. Medium golden, small frothy head, lazy carbonation, clumpy lacing. Light citrus hops on the nose. Taste also focuses on the hops, pretty crisp, like a hoppy pils. Plenty of malt flavor too, well crafted, and tasty.

a well made pale ale here, crisp and modern, lighter than many on the malt side, bright and clear, and with a rather distinctive hop profile. i think edge has been getting better and better since ive been in idaho, and recently their hoppy beer has turned a corner from when i was first introduced to it, i really liked this as a first beer of the day, a refresher. its got some obvious citrus to the hop profile, but the specific hop or hops in here are not obvious to me. there is an herbal element, green tea, maybe faint spruce, and some mild bitterness from start to finish, very tidy overall and well proportioned, not overwhelming in any way. the malt is simple, probably just a basic two row type, nothing remarkable about it, but i think the lighter body and mellow cereal character is a perfect backdrop for these hops. the yeast is similarly minimal, quite neutral in this really, which allows the hops to really sparkle, especially as this gets dried out at the finish. brisk and clean on the palate, nicely carbonated, plenty fresh, and really one of the better hop forward beers i have had from these guys to date. i could have had three or four of these easy last night. great with spicy food!

Pours a nice dark gold, honey color with frothy white head. Aroma is a little tropical fruit, with grapefruit. Flavor is sweet tropical fruits in front, and grapefruit zest, maybe a little resinous, in the back. Finishes dry and medium bitter. Body is light. Overall, light-bodied-easy-drinker with classic(ish) hop profile.
