i love the name, and the beer is pretty good too. one of the more adventurous edge beers i have seen so far, but also one of the best executed, go figure. this is a rotating series where the base beer stays more or less the same and the fruit changes, i know a peach one also exists, not sure about others. its the right amount of tart, and there is some wheat character coming through the fruit, its not all juice and its not too sweet, i think a nicely proportioned and relatively drinkable beer here. just a tiny bit of color from the fruit, an average head, and a low glow from the tap. the blackberry is natural enough, and the tang of the sourness accentuates it well and balances some of its sweet tendencies, best of both worlds here with that. a little cleaner and more refined on the malt side than a lot of these, less raw to me, less earthy, but i can still taste the wheat, some minerals too with it. its not real complex or anything, just a lemony note with the fruit, the wheat, and the acid, but its light and drinkable. itd be better if the carbonation was a little higher, a theme i have noticed in many beers from these guy whether at the brewery, at festivals, or around town, but its not flat either. id be curious to try some other fruits in here, but the blackberry hits the mark.
