A blend of imperial stout (83%) and English barleywine (16.5%) aged 12 months in Heaven Hill barrels. This big dog was bred to tuck in your cellar for years. If you drink it now, expect notes of bakers chocolate, cherry, toasty oak and bourbon.

2023 vintage, “Broly”. Dark dark oil in color. Super thin head, though was poured refrigerator cold. Mouth feel is still carbonated perfectly though however I appreciate a slight bit thicker. That being said, given the ABV, it’s totally appropriate. Vanilla, bourbon and cocoa from smell through lingering finish.
IMHO, get this. I have had many “world class” stouts and this is an easy top 10 on my list

black on black, nice and thick, a proper stout but still benefits from the bourbon barrel aging. a bit of chocolate, a touch of coffee on the nose and boozy. sharp aftertaste too. all the way around amazing.

Served from the can in a snifter.

2021 vintage, the can states it's a blend of 84% imperial stout and 16% English barleywine aged for 12 months in Heaven Hill barrels. Right on. It pours a straight onyx topped by a half-finger or so of brown foam. The nose comprises cocoa powder, mild bourbon, light vanilla, and roasted malts. The taste brings in more of the same, but with the significant shift of the cocoa into full-on, hardcore baker's dark chocolate, the kind you find at the grocery store with over 70% cacoa, that when you bite into it your tongue revolts against the tyrannical rule of the New Bitterness. It's not a good feeling, sorta like some astringent coffee being added to an otherwise solid stout base. The body is a hefty medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fairly thick, coating feel. Overall, a nice beer on paper, but the overly bitter chocolate/coffee aspect really did it in for me.

Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a quarter finger dark khaki head with great retention and solid, but slippery lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, cocoa and bourbon, a bit boozy. Flavor is dark toasted malt with some biscuit and moderate char, bourbon, bakers chocolate and light oaky vanilla. Chocolate and bourbon finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A solid bourbon barreled stout with good chocolate and a deep malt body with a silky mouth feel. Bourbon is light to moderate, but a clear note that lingers into the finish and plays off the charry, slightly bitter chocolate malt. Good oak barrel character. Nice stout and great introduction to this brewery.
