Bomber / Stone 'Blood From A Stone' @ 6.8% , served from a 473 ml can purchased for $3.80
A-pour is amber from the can to a clear amber in the glass with a medium size beige/off-white head leaving a spotty lace along the pint
S-hints of rye & hops
T-ok taste , spicey dry finish
MF-ok/mild carbonation , big bodied
Ov-just an ok beer

Props to joemcgrath27 for sending this gem my way. Great nose on this one with toffee and caramel, peppery spice and leafy green hops. Flavor profile is much the same with the malts dominating with a peppered bread flavour lingering alongside a surprising citrus rind bitterness. A damn fine brew that profiles the rye malts nicely and a hops that complement the flavour perfectly.

Tasting notes: Big lemon pie and pear on nose. Palate evokes orange, lemongrass, strong floral elements. A little white pepper. Sturdy toffee backbone. Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Fairly resinous but not overly pungent: More lemony, floral, and spicy than piney or green. I am finding that the aroma stands out more than the flavor. Caramel sweetness becomes more salient over time but fails to overtake the lemon pie note. Tannic black tea in the finish. Stone collaboration but fails to reach those lofty heights.

On tap at The Alibi Room, Vancouver.
Chestnut with no film. 3.5
Chocolate, black raspberry, and resin on the nose. 3.75
Plum, toffee, tannic tea, then some blood orange and resin hops. 3.75
Slightly lacto (fizzy/sour) ending and drying rye spice linger.
Lt-med, dry, round. 4
Funny bird - not that hoppy, plenty of rye, a bit of fruit, but mostly burnt caramel and raspberry tea. Doesn’t taste like a Stone collab. Interesting, if odd. 4

Appearance - Pours a warm copper red-orange with an incredible four fingers of foamy tan head.
Smell - Caramel malts, toffee, citrus and leafy hops, touch of rye and yeast aromas.
Taste - Starts with sweet notes of caramel and toffee, then transforms into the palatable bitterness from citrus and leafy hops, along with flavours of citrus fruit peel and rye malts.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Lingering bitterness into the finish.
Overall - A well-crafted collaboration red rye IPA. The appearance of this one is quite a sight to see, so if you stumble across this one on your store shelves, don't hesitate to pick it up.

650ml bottle. Yes, a collaboration with Stone Brewing, which is not so indirectly referred to on the back label. As for the front, you can see, it sure as hell looks like a Stone product to me.
This beer pours a clear, bright medium orange brick amber hue, with three fingers of puffy rocky, and mildly bubbly off-white head, which leaves some decent weeping Continental drift lace around the glass as it slowly seeps away.
It smells of rather sweet, pastry-like caramel malt, equally sugary orange and red grapefruit, a slight rye grain spiciness, a bit of raw cookie dough yeastiness, and some understated pine and leafy hop notes. The taste is much more astringent all around - the rye malt rising up to see the still sweet caramel eye to eye, the citrus fruit going full rind in its bitterness, the yeast stepping back into the shadows from whence it came, and the earthy, piney, and leafy hoppiness awakening from its slumber.
The carbonation is generally acceptable in its placid, yet supportive frothiness, the body a steady medium weight, and sort of smooth, both the rye spice and edgy hops meddling about a bit too much. It finishes off-dry, that doughy, sugary malt displaying some resiliency, alongside its rye grain counterpart, and the now muddled West Coast (read: Stone) hops.
Between the look and the overall hoppiness (not to mention the rye, which is hardly beyond Stone's out-there abilities), it's hard to see where the Bomber part of this confab begins. Ok, so it's the malt, dummy, but as an imprint metric, that's very much like getting picked last at kickball. Overall, though, a very tasty and interesting brew.
