(February 2018). 330 ml bottle, as Het Uiltje Bosuil - Tawny Owl. ABV is 6%, 50 EBU. From Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. BB date 03.11.16. Nearly black colour, moderate beige head. Nice aroma of fruity and piney hops, on a background of roast malts, caramel, chocolate and vanilla. The flavour has the same elements as the aroma, moderate bittering hops.

Dark ruby pour, tall head with some retention. Feint coffee and cocoa in the nose, along with some other stuff that I could not identify. Hints of coffee and dark chocolate when you taste it, citrus hops, bitter and salty. Very high carbonation yet smooth in the mouth, making for a refreshing drink.

A fresh flowery smell, followed by a taste with hints of roasted coffee and chocolate. The aftertaste is bitter and dry and lingers well. This is a nice beer.

From a 330ml bottle into a pint.
A: Pours black, with a thick beige head. Very nice head retention. Decent lacing. No visible activity.
S: Very citrus hops forward - grapefruit and some sweeter, follwed by some roasty malt.
T: Follws the aroma; citrus hops right up front, follwed by a very light roast and then smoothly transitions into bitter.
M: Medium bodied. Drinks smooth. Coats the mouth very nicely. A moderately dry finish with a long-lasting bitterness
Overall: Delivers on all fronts for what you want from a Black IPA - agressive hops, refreshingly smooth drink, with a roasty kick.
