Very dark chocolate brown colour. Boozy aromas with raisin, sticky tree fruit, vanilla, bourbon, and warm spices. Tastes like it smells. Soft buttery Mf but with a soft carbonation. Raisin and bourbon, balanced and a touch of mocha and vanilla paste on the finish. Lingering toasty sweetness.

Got this one on the interwebs somewhere. Cheers for the tip Pim!
From a bottle into a snifter
EBU: 90

Imperial stout with juniper, cranberries and coffee beans, dry hopped with Bramling Cross and Columbus and aged on oak chips.
APPEARANCE: Clear dark brown pour yields a 1+ finger, thinner, fizzy, light tan head with lousy retention. Head fizzes down to a faint ring only. Clear black body with no real carbonation evident. A slight ring remains until the end but it starts to look rather flat by the end.
SMELL: Decent strength nose is roasted with some alcohol as well. Dark fruits, raisins, light notes of berries and a touch of coffee under the roasted grain and alcohol. The combination of this and the oak gives it a slight rum aroma. Okay for sure.
TASTE: Definite wood, berries and some roasted grain up front. Forthcoming enough. More character comes out after the swallow, with some alcohol, raisins, berries and light oak flavors showing up on the palate. A bolder and lingering finish of roasted malts, raisins, other dark fruit, oak and a hint of vanilla, some faint bitter coffee and a good dose of rum-like alcohol. A touch of dark chocolate shows up as well. The wood is there the whole way through but never becomes a chore. The other additions are not overly powerful, but this works well and is balanced quite nicely. The alcohol doesn’t get in the way either. Quite well done here.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy enough on the palate and a bit lighter perhaps, goes down okay with a bit of a scratch and finishes a bit mouth-coating, though not as sticky as I’d expected. A bit of heat lingers but not near the 14% ABV this one boasts. A little more weight would be nice, however.
OVERALL: This is a quality bruiser of a stout. Given the track record of the Dutch small brewery scene as a whole, I was actually expecting much, much worse from this one. Instead, this one is a well-balanced, interesting, enjoyable brew that incorporates its 14% ABV in more than acceptable manner. Good stuff all around here. Cheers!
