Got on a trade! Served at 9deg C in a tulip. 330ml bottle.

A- Opens well and pours a tiny 1/4" high off white head that is gone in minutes. Very dark brown colour

S- Not a lot here. Some wood scents

T- Wood aged brew for sure. Light and mellow. Lets the stout come through. Good balance. No heat at all. Nice blend.

M- Dry and crisp as expected. Creamy going down but light on the mouth. Too watery

O- Nice brew. Has a good balance to it and nothing sticks out but a bit bland. Will not buy again. Worth trying though.

Food Pairing

This nice brew went well with...... Funnel cake with whipped cream!

Enjoy

A: Almost no head after a few seconds. Never a good sign.
S: Not a lot going on.
T: Better than it looks and smells. Rummy dark chocolate rather than smokey coffee. As it warms the rumminess transforms into a quite obvious whisky influence, and the peatiness comes out. The mouthfeel really lets it down though, big time. It's fizzy and just not smooth enough. Gets very bitter towards the end. Not sure if that's the whisky or the hops.
O: Not great. A creamy mouthfeel would bump its score up no end. In fact at 11.3% it's a little hard to finish. Maybe I got a bad bottle.

Dark, almost opaque, with not much carbonation and a thin creamy head. The whiskey is very present in the nose, along with dark cherries and dark chocolate. It's surprisingly light bodied and drinkable, for a barrel aged beer. Tastes like dark cherries, cocoa, faint dried fruit. The alcohol is a bit too strong, both in the nose as well as the taste. It probably would have done with a bit more malty sweetness, for the taste, as well as texture.
