Copenhagen 25/9 2019. 33 cl bottle from Voldby Købmandsgaard (web-shop). Drawing of fat and apparantly drunk bird in overalls eating cake (!) on the label.
Pours clear, very dark brown with a red hue. Small off-white head. Settles as thin, flimsy, patchy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No Lacing.
Aroma is medium-intense, sweet without being cloying and with a light fruity tartness peeking in. Caramel and dark chocolate. Light metallic notes. Lactose. Hints of Cherry.
Light carbonation. Thick, smooth and viscous texture. I have to work a little to get it out of the glass.
Flavor has a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a light Cherry tang. Lingering.
Sweet - but not too sweet - sweet Milk stout. Well balanced. Strong Flavor hides the alkohol thoroughly. The label looks like some terrible German Malt beer - but it’s a good one.
