Pitch black, no head.
A lot of bourbon, chocolate and vanilla.
Strong and powerful. Thick and dense. Quite drinkable despite the quite high ABV. Nice work!

Poured from fridge temp. Pours jet black with nice dark head. Nose is full of bourbon - really nice and sweet. Some roasted malts and dark fruit as well. Taste is really nice. Mostly sweet bourbon - lots of aging is evident. The alcohol (over 14%) doesn't come through, so be careful with this sipper. To me, it's missing some of the classic RIS flavors - not a lot of licorice or coffee. Definitely getting some chocolate as well. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy. Overall, a nice stout, but a bit too heavy on the bourbon.
