Got this one from the Duvel guy in Utrecht
From a 400ml can into a snifter
Canned 25 October 2018
New England Style Double IPA
APPEARANCE: Pours out syrupy and yields a small, thin, white wisp only. No real head. Hazy safety orange with minimal carbonation evident. Half wisp remains leaving traces of lacing down the glass as it empties. The color is nice on this one but the head is not quite good enough for the style.
SMELL: Tropical fruits, peaches, nectarines, pineapple and passion fruit on the nose. Some light caramel notes as well as some booze in the back. Bold and enticing.
TASTE: Some bready malts, toffee and caramel sweetness, with a good dose of tropical fruit up front. Flavorful with a bit of spicy alcohol too. Bold finish of peaches, passion fruit, pineapple, some caramel and some spicy alcohol linger on the palate.
PALATE: Medium body and slightly lower carbonation. Creamy and a little silky, goes down fine and finishes somewhat mouth-coating. A bit of spicy booze lingers.
OVERALL: This is definitely the biggest New England DIPA I’ve had and I’m definitely a fan. It’s perhaps more syrupy than expected and the booze is definitely there, but it’s got plenty going on and drinks away far too easily. Glad to have tried it and would drink again if I saw it. Another good hop can from het Uiltje.

Amarillo hops are the showcase here. It is piney and onion. If you like Amarillo hops go for this offering. I got the feeling that with its 10abv it was not really worth my sobriety.
