Got this from the Duvel guy in Utrecht
From a 440ml can into a snifter
Canned 6 December 2018
Brut IPA
APPEARANCE: Pours a 1+ finger, slightly looser and foamy looking white head with good retention. Maize yellow, clear, with next to no visible carbonation. Head slowly fades to a half wisp and ring, clinging to the glass. Faint wisp remains leaving touches of lacing down the glass as it empties.
SMELL: Some honeydew melon, pineapple and light notes of caramel on the nose. Hints of pine too. Milder in strength.
TASTE: Some tropical sweetness, pale malts, some hay and piney notes up front, then some honeydew melon at the swallow. Milder yet lingering finish of melon sweetness, pineapple, caramel flavors and some light, piney bitterness on the palate.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy and smooth on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes a bit dry. Some light bitterness lingers.
OVERALL: Okay, but nothing special here. The nose and flavor is a little milder overall, but what’s there is pleasant drinking. A decent brew but not something overly exciting and I probably wouldn’t bother drinking it again. These guys have lots of stuff that stands out way more. Cheers!

This was a miss. It seemed to be a well executed BrutIPA but the rotten egg smell got more and more unbearable. I cannot say if it was a brewing mistake (yeast health!) or just the Simcoe without any malt to balance it, but I did not take the chance of waking up with a aching head and made it a drainpour.
