Got this one from the Duvel guy. Cheers!
From a 440ml can into a snifter
Canned 22 November 2018
APPEARANCE: Pours a two finger, medium looking, creamy, fluffy white head with good retention. Perfectly clear amber in color with touches of carbonation evident. Head slowly fades to a think wisp and coats the sides of the glass. A wisp and splotchy wisp remains leaving some good lacing on the glass as it empties. Decent looking beer but misses the signature hazy look for the style.
SMELL: Some mango, pineapple and passion fruit on the nose. Tropical fruits and a touch of bready malts as well. Not quite as bold and the west coast version.
TASTE: Mango, pineapple, some passion fruit and bready malts up front. Some more malt sweetness at the swallow, followed by a medium finish of pale malts, some mango flavors, passion fruit and tropical notes. No real bitterness lingers.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes a touch dry on the palate.
OVERALL: Good stuff but not quite as full of character as the West Coast edition. Not really as juicy as some of the others in this style, and dare I say not as juicy or full as some of the other New England IPAs to have come out of ‘h Uiltje either. Perfectly fine to drink but not as awesome as hoped.
