Got this from the Duvel guy in Utrecht
From a 440ml can into a pint glass
Canned 8 July 2019
Lemon IPA
APPEARANCE: Pours out clear and yields a 1 ½ finger, medium looking, foamy and fluffy white head with great retention. Clear golden yellow in color with lower levels of carbonation evident. Head slowly recedes to a full wisp and clings to the sides of the glass. Splotchy wisp remains leaving touches of lacing as the glass empties.
SMELL: Definite lemon on the nose, with melon aromas, some pineapple and caramel as well. Bold enough.
TASTE: Lemon flavors for sure, a touch sour, with caramel, melon sweetness and some light bitterness at the swallow. Medium but lingering finish of bitter and sour lemon, some melon and pineapple flavor, caramel sweetness and a touch of honey. Interesting and well balanced.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy smooth on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes a bit dry. A touch of bitterness lingers.
OVERALL: Nice and refreshing. The IPA is fine but the lemon addition is well measured and works out very nicely. This is definitely the refreshing brew you want to take the place of your Corona. This is an IPA lover’s Corona. I honestly don’t know if that’s what these guys were going for, or if I’ve just insulted them to mammoth proportions, but screw ‘em. If you brew a beer as refreshing as this, you’re just asking for it. Drink this when the weather is warm. In fact, it’s supposed to be 30+ this week, so stock up. Highly recommended.
