Got this one from the Duvel guy in Utrecht
From a 440ml can into a pint glass
Canned in January 2019
Single Hop IPA
APPEARANCE: Pours a 1+ finger, medium looking, creamy, frothy white head with great retention. Slightly hazy amber yellow with no carbonation evident. Head slowly recedes to a full film and coats the glass the lacing. Faint wisp remains leaving some nice lacing down the glass. Another good looking IPA from ‘t Uiltje.
SMELL: Grapefruit aromas, citrus, lemon notes, honeydew melon, cantaloupe, and some caramel character on the nose. Bold and forthcoming.
TASTE: Some caramel sweetness, citrus flavors and some definite soapy qualities up front. A touch of bitterness at the swallow, moving into a bold and lingering finish of caramel flavors, some grapefruit and citrus, crisp lemon character, hop bitterness and some soapy notes as well. The soapy quality is a little rough at the beginning but it subsides after a few minutes.
PALATE: Medium body and carbonation. Creamy and smooth on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes a bit dry on the palate. A touch of bitterness lingers.
OVERALL: This is a flavorful and enjoyable IPA. The soap character subsides with time and the centennial hops are very enjoyable, otherwise. Been a long time since I’ve brewed with them but this reminds me of how nice they are. Check it out if you have access to it. Cheers!
