Got this from the Duvel guy in Utrecht
From a 440ml can into a pint glass
Canned 21 February 2019
DDH NE IPA
APPEARANCE: Pours a one finger, medium looking, creamy white head with excellent retention. Slightly hazy gold yellow in color with no carbonation evident. Head slowly recedes to a full cap and clings to the sides of the glass. Faint wisp remains leaving good lacing down the glass.
SMELL: Nice aromas of orange and tangerine on the nose. Hints of caramel and bubble gum as well, but this is very tangerine and mandarin heavy for sure. Interesting.
TASTE: Mandarin and caramel flavors up front. Quite interesting. More melon and tangerine sweetness at the swallow, moving into a medium but lingering finish of mandarin, orange, caramel sweetness and notes of pineapple as well.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy on the palate, smooth, goes down smooth and finishes a bit dry. Some bitterness lingers. Creamy and smooth for sure.
OVERALL: Good stuff for sure. Enjoyable and satisfying. The hops give it a somewhat orange, tangerine, mandarin flavor that is quite interesting and unique. Good execution on this one as well, and the feel is right up there as well. However, I don’t find it as impressively delicious as some of the others in the bi-weekly canned series. This is less a knock on this brew as it is a statement of how good these canned releases have been. Cheers!
