Got this one from the Duvel guy in Utrecht
From a 440ml can into a pint glass
Canned 26 June 2019
DDH IPA
APPEARANCE: Pours out clear and yields a small, medium looking, foamy white head with okay retention. Clear golden yellow in color with lower levels of carbonation evident. Head quickly recedes to a full, faint wisp and ring.
SMELL: Honeydew melon, pineapple and tangerine aromas, with hints of caramel and butterscotch as well. Almost a hint of vanilla.
TASTE: Caramel, honeydew melon, butterscotch and a touch of vanilla up front and into the swallow. Unique. Bolder and lingering finish of caramel, butterscotch, some grainy malt flavors, as well as some piney bitterness. Flavorful.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy smooth on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes a bit dry. A touch of bitterness lingers.
OVERALL: This is solid stuff. The tomahawk has lent an interesting butterscotch and vanilla quality to it that is certainly refreshing. Worth checking out but not a repeat offender I wouldn’t think. Cheers!
