Got this from the Duvel guy in Utrecht
From a 440ml can into a pint glass
Canned 10 July 2019
El Dorado NEIPA
4.5%
APPEARANCE: Pours out lightly hazy and yields a small, foamy white head with okay retention. Hazy gold yellow body with no carbonation. Head quickly recedes to a faint wisp. Touches of wisp and ring remain leaving no real lacing down the glass. Decent body but mediocre head.
SMELL: Decently fruity nose with mango, some pineapple, some lemon aromas as well as hints of honeydew melon. Decent strength.
TASTE: A touch watery perhaps, but leads with some tropical fruits, mango and pineapple up front. Lemon flavors and some bready malts at the swallow, moving into a modest but lingering finish of bready malts, honeydew melon, a touch of lemon and some hints of tropical fruits.
PALATE: Medium body and carbonation. Creamy enough on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes a touch dry. A hint of bitterness lingers.
OVERALL: Not bad. Most of these lower ABV hop forward beers end up falling short, but this one is pretty decent. Good body and a nicely done hop forward profile here. Check it out if you’re a fan of the style. Cheers!
