Prancing around like a 1970’s pimp, you’ll be finding fancy Pants one hell of a boss! Not just because his fancy pants, but the whole shebang. Slick glasses, a gold plated cane at his hand, and the champagne of the working class hero: A bonedry, champagne like Brut ipa. The 6,5% hoppy goodness has made an entrence in the discoteques of our hearts and will probably never leave.
Mister fancy Pants smooth talked his way into our 2020 core range of beers, and without a doubt will be one of the main stars of the show. The chest hear won’t be distracting as the main flavours of white grape, grapefruit and stone fruit will be leaving you dry-mouthed and craving for more. Let’s a fancy pants night!

Copenhagen 7/2 2021. 33 cl can from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh. Ø. Small cartoon on the can with a pimp of a duck and some envious groupies. Uiltje style.
Pour unclear golden yellow with a mid-sized white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin but consistent layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense with a malty sweet odor mingling with lighter citric notes. Sweet pale malts, glue, a fruity scent of peach and pineapple. Light citrus and lemon.
Strong carbonation. Slightly thick, watery, lively and tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly more moderate citric bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Finish is dry.
Champagne-like dryness and carbonation but not as bitter as I expected. Fresh and easy to drink.

Pours an almost clear, pale golden coloration with a small, frothy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and faint, grassy hops, with notes of citrus andwhite grape. Taste is a good balance of light biscuity malt and grassy, citrus hops, with notes of grapefruit, as well as some white grape and peach coming through. Finishes quite dry, with a light bitterness and some grapefruit and white grape lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This is a decent Brut IPA that certainly has the dryness and, to a lesser degree, sparkling mouthfeel down, but feels a bit lacking when it comes to the hop aromatics, which feel a bit faint both in the nose and on the tongue although this is less than two months old. There are some nice citrus, stone fruit and white grape notes here, they just seem to fade into the background a bit without truly shining through. Still an enjoyable enough brew, just not all that great.
