Copenhagen 11/6 2020. 33 cl can from Vild med Vin web-shop. Ulitje's comics characters this time with a bird posing as a Prima Donna and gag about blonde beers.

Pours unclear, golden yellow with a medium-sized white head. Settles as thin patch of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer.

Aroma is medium intense with a sweet fruitiness with lighter tart, citric notes and a herbal touch. Sweet tangerine, lemon and white sugar. Citrus fruit. Touch of ginger.

Light carbonation. Thin, oily, lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by slightly more moderate citric sourness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a sour, bitter edge. Lingers for a bit. Finish is dry.

Quite fruity but a bit sweetish for a beer that invokes the holy lemon.

Purchased via International Beer Collector subscription in February 2022.

The beer pours a murky, dirt-tinged lemon yellow, with a quickly disappearing head. It's not the most appealing-looking beer I've ever had in my glass.

The appearance is quickly forgotten once I stick my nose in the glass. There's an unmistakable limoncello vibe overlaying the Belgian yeast profile. It smells refreshing, like a citrus spritzer begging to be drunk on a hot day.

The taste follows the nose, with the spicey Belgian yeast coming to the fore and lemon rind in the aftertaste. It's as refreshing as promised and definitely needs self-control to avoid skolling in one shot.

Mouthfeel is spritzy, with medium carbonation and a carbonic prickle that lingers after the mouthful. There's a lingering zestiness in the mouth when all is done.

Overall, this beer rallied after a less-than-stellar opening. It's worth a second look and would be a great gateway beer for a non-beer drinker who nonetheless likes a bitter lemon drink. Very well done!

Cheers

Poured into a BrewDog snifter.

A: Body is yellow and crystalline. Head is white, showing little retention.
S: The aroma is pretty much a belgian pale ale with no big profile on the belgian yeasty tone but with a more malty and alcohol-prone touch.
T: Taste is pretty much a belgian pale ale with a prominent sweet profile due to malts and a sweet and savoury yeast ending a with a crisp bitterness.
M: Body is medium low. Carbonation is good. Bitterness is medium to medium high.
O: Nothing particularly good about this, nor something particularly bad.
