Got this from the Duvel Guy in Utrecht
From a 44cl can into a pint glass
Canned 29 June 2020
APPEARANCE: Pours a small, half finger, creamy white head with very good retention. Bright, slightly hazy amber yellow with no real carbonation evident. Head slowly recedes to a full wisp and clings to the glass. A splotchy wisp remains leaving decent lacing on the glass. Good looking, and a very light, bright color.
SMELL: Pineapple, mango, passion fruit and honeydew melon on the nose. Tropical, and bold for the ABV.
TASTE: Passionfruit and some pineapple up front, with some light bitterness and piney flavor at the swallow. Medium finish of tropical fruits, passion fruit, pineapple, some melon flavors, and a light piney bitterness. Pleasant, though not overly flavorful.
PALATE: Lighter body and medium carbonation. Semi-creamy on the palate, goes down fine and finishes a touch dry.
OVERALL: This is solid. It’s labeled as a regular IPA but the character is quite tropical and there’s very little bitterness on this one, so you might as well call it a New England style. Either way, it’s an enjoyable, lower ABV IPA and is well worth checking out if you’re looking for something refreshing. Cheers!
