Got this from the Duvel guy in Utrecht
From a 44cl can into a pint glass
Canned 8 September 2020
IBU: 12
Guava NEIPA
APPEARANCE: Pours a two finger, medium looking, foamy white head with very good retention. Cloudy peach yellow with no carbonation evident. Head slowly recedes to a foamy cap and leaves some foamy lacing on the glass. Splotchy wisp remains leaving touches of lacing on the glass as it empties.
SMELL: Lots of tropical fruit, including guava, papaya, pineapple, passion fruit and mango aromas. Very fruity and tropical. Bold.
TASTE: Lots of tropical fruit flavors up front, with guava, papaya, pineapple, passion fruit and some mango flavors, much like the nose had advertised. Flavorful finish with lots of tropical fruit flavors and a touch of melon sweetness lingering on the palate. Good stuff.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy enough on the palate, goes down fine and finishes somewhat mouth-coating. No bitterness lingers.
OVERALL: Really good. Lots of juicy tropical goodness and the guava fits the bill in that respect. Flavorful and aromatic, with a solid, cloudy look that fits this style so well. A quality NEIPA from a quality brewer. Check it out if you like your IPAs east coast style. Recommended.
