Got this one from the Duvel guy in Utreg. Cheers!
From a 44cl can into a pint glass
Canned 27 July 2021
5.8%
West Coast IPA
APPEARANCE: Pours a 1+ finger, fluffy and foamy looking white head with decent retention. Perfectly clear amber yellow with no real carbonation evident. Head recedes to a thick, foamy cap. A ring remains until the end leaving dots of lacing down the glass as it empties. Solid.
SMELL: Lots of honeydew melon, pineapple, some piney aromas and caramel notes on the nose. Plenty forthcoming.
TASTE: Caramel flavor, melon and honey dew flavors, some pineapple and touches of piney flavors at the swallow. Follows the nose well. Solid finish of melon, honey, caramel, some tropical notes and a touch of piney bitterness lingers on the palate. Lots of melon on this one. Flavorful.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy enough on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes a touch dry. No real bitterness lingers.
OVERALL: Good beer. Not quite that piney bitterness that is often associated with west coast IPAs, but it’s tasty and enjoyable non-the-less. Lovely melon character and some nice pineapple to go with it. Uiltje IPAs are always solid and this is another good one. Cheers!
