This toffee boozy black bombshell is a throwback to one of the most extraordinary black barley wines we ever produced: Peer Pressure back in 2015. Consider this heavily tattooed p(r)ommes queens her mouthy little successor. Hopped excessively with Cascade and agreed endlessly in calvados casks, this sophisticated diva balances deep caramel undertones of Norman brandy with malty apple sweetness. Yep, that's Pomme Pressure for you: a smalltown ale living in an uptown world.

Served in tulip glass from the bottle.
Appearance: Deep dark mahogany body with a subtle off-white head which has an initial rise of maybe 8mm off the body.
Smell: Raisin like aroma with hints of warm brown sugar.
Taste: Complicated dessert which consisted of a whiskey soaked raisin bread. Molasses with a dose of toffee and and a smooth rioja.
Mouth: Soft carbonation with a ridiculous full body. Not the stickiest of beer but yes very stuck if that makes sense.
Overall: A gem, have had barleywines all night and this one lacks some finishing touches like I had earlier but still a beast in the jungle. Salud!
