Tasted 26 December 2013, reviewed from notes.
Pours a deep brown, clear at the top of the bottle but yeasty and cloudy at the bottom. About one finger of yellowish head, good retention and nice lacing. A good-looking beer.
Smell is a slightly sweet brown ale, a little on the sugary side.
Taste is also relatively sugary. It's all caramel malts, and just a touch nutty, not at all woody or hoppy. Mostly it's clean and sweet in the way that I like brown ales to be.
Feel is medium-bodied, medium-low carbonation but that's fine. Fades out pretty quickly.
A nice, pleasantly sweet brown ale, a lot like many American browns that I really like.
