Six Ten "Way Off Kilter"
4 oz. for $2.50, on tap @ Six Ten on 23 Dec 2014
Appearance: Clear russet/mahogany brown body with golden and orange highlights beneath a short head of off-white foam.
Aroma: Caramelish malt with light fruit (pear/apple).
Flavor: Darkly caramelish malt with a slight roasty edge. Brown sugar. A firm bitterness leads to a dry finish that's peppered with very mild leafy and floral notes.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light bodied and gently effervescent... perhaps a bit much for the style.
Overall: With the exception of a slightly elevated carbonation level, this is an excellent Scottish-style ale that satisfies on all levels. Well-brewed and worth trying.
