found on tap at the Somerset Hills Hotel in Warren. Nice dark black color... cofee and sweet aromas. Tasty porter with subtle but declared columbian cofee taste. Easy going down and pleasant linger in the mouth afterward. Phenomenally rewardinfg on a cold February day in the Jersey hills. Nice job boys and gals at Flying Fish on your 10th anniversary beer!

Sweet cocoa and coffee aroma is full and fat int he nose. Cloudy brown with a large, two finger thick, mocha head that is mostly lasting. More cocoa and coffee, but blended with a mild roastiness throughout and creamy feel to the whole affair. Enjoyed this one.

This was on cask at Andy's. Dark brown in color with a nice lasting head.
Malty and roasty. Caramel notes. Nice aroma. Very roasty like a stout. Very coffee like. Chocolatety. Enjoyable. I liked it. Interesting beer. Full bodied beer. Well balanced. A nice porter to try.

On-Cask at the Grey Lodge for Groundhogs day (Yeah Scoats!). Straight from the firkin this one was a dark cola/brown colour with a nice head of espresso-like, tan-coloured foam. Aromas of very roasted malts, and strong coffee hits as well. Thaste follows suit with a good balance between roasted malt flavors and coffee flavors. This is a nicely balanced pint. Mouthfeel is cask-goodness with those tiny bubbles hitting every flavor sector of the tongue. Drinkability is good as well, even if you are drinking at 7AM trying to recover from a Tuesday night cask nugget nectar overdose! Great stuff.

Beer was poured from a cask-conditioned keg sitting atop the bar into a glass pitcher. I recieved the pitcher and from there poured into a 8-oz straight walled glass. The pitcher had aprox 1.5in of a light brown head.
At first smell did not give any indication of what treat was waiting for me. An exceptionally easy to drink beer, everyone in my party agreed (even the "clear beer" drinkers). Hints of coffee and chocolate were light enough not to over power my tastebuds but more to mellow them. This is one brew I will be delighted to drink again.

This one is a really dark brown, almost black brew, that sat under a massive frothy coating of brown foam. Such a looker out of the hand pump. I immediately was hit with a blast of coffee and chocolate aromas, very roasty and very welcoming. Some burnt little notes were there as well.
Smooth as silk with a very creamy mouthfeel to it, I think that this beer was made for the cask. It just seemed to bring out everything this beer should be. The chocolate flavor sat behind lots of coffee, but not to much. An overall roasty character had sweetness, and ever so subtle hop presence. Earthy flavors and a hit of caramel came in from time to time. The drinkability was excellent, and since the temperature was dead-on, I really think this beer was in its best form.

I really got into this beer. Midnight black in color, rich, tan creamy head of foam. The aroma is sweet with bits of chocolate and roasted coffee. Low bitterness with just the right amount of sweetness. Creamy and very smooth body of rich roasted malts. It was like a liquid chocolate bar. I think this is one of the best offerings from This brewer and a beer I would definitely seek out again. They should bottle this.

A special Groundhog's day treat at the Grey Lodge in NE Philly. Excellent limited edition brew from the boys in South Jersey.
The beer looked excellent. Dark. Nice creamy head. Went down a bit but was always present. I only had a little bit since I can't have a lot of caffeine. We were being served in small glasses.
The taste was excellent. Their porter is really drinkable. Adding coffee was a great bonus. And it made the drink really drinkable.
This brewery generally doesn't get the respect it deserves for making very drinkable beers. Great job. I hope they produce this more often.
