Sometimes a change in latitude is all it takes to reveal a new path, and Tradewinds Tropical Wheat was brewed to sail. Copious amounts of passionfruit and guava create an aromatic experience of the islands, like a mini-vacation. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a dark golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is full of tropical fruits. Taste is passion fruit, guava, some wheat, refreshing. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer that I would probably enjoy more during the summer.

12 ounce can poured into a Duvel tulip glass. Best by 9/22/21.
L---Mostly clear, medium golden color. Small white head faded quickly down to a ring. Minimal lacing.
S---Sweet. Advertised tropical fruits are there. No wheat noted.
T---Same as the nose.
F---Light/medium bodied. Minimal carbonation.
O---They can't all be winners.

Cloudy, amber color, passion fruit smell. Mild malt flavor notes of dried fruit, clean crisp feel. Overall a nice fruity summer wheat. This is not my go too style, but I enjoyed this one.

it is good for summer but the fruit is too overpowering to drink more than one at a time. color is pleasant to look at, the feel is good and indiciative of a high quality beer but the passionfruit is quite strong for me

Look: Slightly hazy gold with an orange tint. One finger of bubbly white head with decent retention.
Smell: Strong passionfruit, guava, and pineapple notes with a light acidity in the nostrils.
Taste: Very mild at the beginning, with a faint tropical fruit flavor that gradually gives way to a stronger wheat malt aftertaste. Almost no noticeable hops.
Mouthfeel: Full body, very high carbonation.
Overall: Smells delicious, but fails to deliver on the taste.

Flying Fish Brewing Co. "Tradewinds Tropical Wheat"
1 pint can coded "BEST BY 09/21/19"
Look: Hazy golden body beneath a full head of white foam that drops readily. Average head retention and lacing - not great for being a wheat beer.
Smell: Fruity with mango, passion fruit, and guava over a sweetish and wheat malt base.
Taste: As the aroma dictates. Moderate bitterness and mostly sweet but it's still got a fairly dry finish. I can't tell if this is real fruit or an extract so that's a positive, but it may be a little bit overdone. Pleasant enough, and great for summer.
Feel: Medium bodied and crisp.
Overall: Not a bad fruit beer to be sure. This may be my favorite Flying Fish beer behind their Abbey Dubbel, HopFish, and Farmhouse.

On tap, nonic pint glass, at the Brickwall in Asbury Park.
Pale golden color, translucent, 1F white cap that films nicely and leaves soapy foam lacing.
The tropical fruit aroma and flavor go hand in hand. Dry oats and light wheat for balance. There's some light citrus,
too.
Oats and wheat make it a beer instead of a juice drink. Nice. Medium body and no hop bitterness, yet clean and dry.
I hope to find it again on a warm day.
