Enjoy Flying Fish but this one is to off center a typical NEIPA for my liking. Better options from FF in legacy beers.

Pours an opaque gold with a persistent head and great lacing. Nose is pineapple and tropical fruit hops. Taste is juicy tropical hops but with a bracing bitterness from the middle through the finish. Full bodied and creamy mouthfeel. Very good and different from the usual NEIPA in that it's much more bitter. It works.

The taste is a bit askew to the hop side from the balance of a standard NEIPA. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, its just a bit of a surprise to expectations. This drinks like a double dry hopped IPA, minus New England.

$ 4.00 (Including tax)/16 oz can ($ 0.250/oz). Purchased 4/13/20 at Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA. Reviewed 4/20/20
“BEST BY 3/21/20” stamped on bottom. In reefer at store. Stored upside down at home at 42 degrees and served at 45 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter.
Appearance – 3.75.
First pour – Pale gold (SRM 4), very slight haze.
Body – Deep gold (SRM 6), opaque. When held to direct light, deep gold (SRM 6) and hazy, with tiny floaters.
Head – Large (Maximum 5.3 cm, aggressive center pour), off white, meringue-like, average retention, diminishing to a jagged four to eighteen mm crown and thick partial cap. Chunks of foam hang on sides above the crown.
Lacing – Good! Narrow bands of tiny bubbles with many short stalactites. See also above.
Aroma – 3.75 – Initially strong pineapple, followed by malt, no yeastiness.
Flavor – 3.75 - Begins right at the border of sweet and bitter – could go either way. Flavor is primarily light malt, although some flavor of cooked pineapple does come through. No yeast. No alcohol (7.3 % ABV as marked on the label) taste or aroma. No diacetyl, no dimethylsulfide. Ends with light malt bitterness with a long hang time.
Palate – 3.5 – Medium, thicker than watery but far short of creamy, moderate carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.75. Not picking up any citrus from the citra hops, otherwise a pretty good NEIPA. Seems a bit malty for an IPA which, for my taste buds, which doesn’t pair well with the pineapple from the mosaic hops – the citra hops don’t show well, but in fairness, this is past the BB date. Overall, a decent NEIPA but overpriced. The label art is rather cartoonish but at least the label info contains the ABV and the hop bill.

This beer is the perfect new england IPA; sweet but not too sweet, perfect IPA bitter, strong but not too strong. This beer is absolutely delicious, and tastes noticeably better than most beers I've had.
This is a 5 star beer.

16 oz can. Pours hazy orange with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head. Aroma is of citrusy hops, bready malt and tropical fruit. Body is full and crisp. Taste is similar to aroma. Finish is long and hoppy. Nice brew.

Doesn't really look like a NEIPA. Pours hazy but not full on NEIPA. Aroma is spot on IPA, hoppy and floral. Taste is also nice, a good hop malt balance. Feel is good for an IPA, but a bit shy of a NEIPA. Overall a very nice IPA.
