I have decided to continue with fruited beers since I still have some to run through while eradicating the Bottle (Eek!) backlog here at Chez Woody. This one came from my local, in-person trader, @tone77 during his most recent pick-up/drop-off.

From the Bottle (!): "Barrel Aged Golden Ale with Peach & Mango"; "Barrel Aged*Limited Edition"; "Belgian-Style Golden Ale brewed with Peach and Mango and aged in wine barrels."; "Just when you thought it was over, summer weather hangs around leading to some of the nicest warm days of the year. Kick back and sip on this Belgian style blonde with juicy peach and ripened mango. Summer isn't over yet."

I merely Pop!ped the cap & the room was instantly flooded with the smell of peaches! 8=O I continued with a slow, gentle C-Line pour into the awaiting goblet as the peach odor increased. Finishing, I utilized an in glass swirl to produce two fingers of foamy, bubbly, soapy, bone-white head with excellent retention. Color was solid Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity. Leaning in for a sniff, the nose was redolent with peach and a white wine vinousness. Mmm. I, like @tone77 am not much of an oenophile, but I have been known to tipple with my maternal uncle, a home vintner. The taste was that of a semi-sweet White wine with a pronounced peach presence. The mango seemed to be overwhelmed in this one. Finish was semi-dry with a fruity vinousness that lingered well past the swallow. It was nice, but I did not feel like I was necessarily drinking a beer. YMMV.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a dark golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is just like chardonnay. Taste is chardonnay, alcohol, a touch of peaches, finishes dry. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall if you are a wine drinker (I am not), give this a try.
