Big Pineapple – from Flying Fish Brewery. 16 oz can. In reefer at Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA. Acquired 11/10/23, $ 4.00 (Including tax), $ 0.250/fl oz. Reviewed 17/10/23 (Review 3167). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Bottom of can stamped “12/11/23”. Stored at 34 degrees at home. Served at 42.9 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature was 50.9 degrees F.
Appearance – 4.5
First pour – Straw (SRM 3), hazy.
Body – Pale Gold (SRM 4), murky and opaque. Under direct light, same. When rear-lite, diffused gold.
Head: Large (Maximum 5.3 cm, aggressive center pour), white, high density. Rapidly reduces, leaving a 5 to 10 mm crown and a heaped partial cap. Multiple rings of small to medium bubbles form a reticulum on the inside of the glass as the head collapses.
Lacing – Excellent! The entire inside of the glass is covered with torn curtain lacing – quite attractive.
Aroma – 4.25 – Moderate pineapple aroma. No malt, some hops, no yeast. No ethanol (8.2 % ABV according to the label).
Flavor – 4.25 – Following the nose. No malt, distinct hops, no yeast. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Ends with moderate gastric warming, slightly bitter.
Palate – 4.25 – Medium; approaching creamy; lively carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 4.5 Easy drinking, but the pineapple nose is more pronounced than the pineapple flavor.

This unfiltered IPA pours a bight golden color great bubbles flowing throughout and makes about a half inch of pillow foam pulling back to some great lacing. Smell is fruity hops wouldn't really say pineapple since its still quite resinous. Taste is pretty approachable slightly different malts than I am used to but I see now this is an English IPA so I get it. A bit dank medium and not really chug able which is a shame since I do enjoy sipping a DIPA but also would like to crush them occasionally. Overall not really loving this one and kind of regret paying almost 6 bucks for the pounder since its not really juicy or have any pineapple like sweetness

Pours a very slightly cloudy bright gold with lots of visible carbonation and a small head. Smell is indeed big pineapple hops as advertised. A little one note but nice. Taste is pineapple a little juicy but also a little piney and resinous. Nice bitter finish. A little spicy booze. Not particularly complex but good. Sort of a NEIPA but I think you could also call this a regular old DIPA and not be wrong. Very nicely carbonated and very drinkable for its strength. Warming. Overall a very nice double IPA with some good bitterness.
